On November 7, the Jilin University 2014 Posts and Telecommunications Academy Alumni Scholarship Award Ceremony was held in the College of Communication Engineering. Gu Song, Secretary General of the Alumni Foundation, Wu Liangchun, Director of the Foundation, Pu Shaohua, Deputy Director of the Public Relations Office, and the leadership team of the College of Communication Engineering attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Cheng Yue, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College.
Pu Shaohua announced the decision of the Jilin University 2014 Posts and Telecommunications Academy Alumni Scholarship Award. Alumni and leaders issued certificates to 17 deserving students.
At the ceremony, Zhao Xiaohui, Dean of the College, on behalf of the faculty and students, expressed warm welcome to the alumni and thanked them for their financial support to their alma mater. He also congratulated the awarded students, hoping they would cherish the honor, study and work hard to really flourish, and thus promote the college with personal progress, so as to see an early realization of their life values.
On behalf of the alumni, Gu Song expressed his deep affection for the College of Communication Engineering as well as his congratulations and high expectations to the awarded students. It is hoped that students of the College could increase exchanges and experience sharing with the alumni and enhance solidarity and mutual support after graduation, and return their alma mater with greater achievements through hard work, so that the spirit of alumni could be passed on.
The awarded students each delivered their gratitude to the alumni, Jilin University and professors, saying they would be more diligent and enterprising in the future to live up to all expectations and reflect credit on their alma mater and repay the society with more achievements.
At the end of the ceremony, Cheng Yue spoke in the summary that the scholarship the alumni provided with the strong affection to the alma mater was not only a kind of material reward, but also a kind of spiritual incentive. He appreciated the alumni's generosity to the alma mater and all forms of thankfulness and all donations were encouragement to younger students. He also asked the students to be grateful, to learn from the virtues of the alumni who were practical, honest, daring to start a business, and brave enough to take responsibility, and strive to become outstanding alumni that the university took pride in.
