On September 17, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of Jilin University, the College of Communication Engineering (CCE), held the Risconda Optical Communication Laboratory, Jilin University and alumni forest opening ceremony on Nanhu campus. Li Yuejie, Zhao Zhe and other distinguished alumni; Tian Li, former leader of Changchun Post and Telecommunications Institute and CCE director of General Office; and Pu Shaohua, deputy director of Office of Public Relations , attended the ceremony. More than 100 college faculties and students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Cheng Yue, secretary of CCE party committee.
First of all, Zhao Xiaohui, Dean of CCE, delivered a welcome speech. He mentioned that all the teaching facilities worth millions of RMB for the “Risconda Optical Communication Laboratory, Jilin University” was donated by Risconda Technology Development Co., Ltd., of which our distinguished graduate Li Yuejie was a founder. This laboratory is used for the teaching and scientific research of teachers and students at related majors including communication engineering, electronic engineering, and so on. It greatly improves CCE laboratory conditions and the level of experiment. What’s more, as the demonstration of the gratitude for the cultivation of the alma mater and the witness of its development, the “Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Forest” activity, initiated by the Communication Branch of Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association, has met with a warm response from graduates all over the world. Seventy silver birches were planted at the Nanhu campus, deeply reflecting the cohesion of the alumni and their love and praise for their alma mater.
At the ceremony, our graduate Li Yuejie, executive director and vice chairman of Risconda Technology Development Co., Ltd., as well as CCE distinguished guest professor, and Zhao Zhe, chairman of Shenzhen Weike Electronics Co., Ltd., Shanghai Weiyin Electronics Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Purong Industrial Co., Ltd., vice president of Jilin University Shenzhen Alumni Association, president of Communication Branch and CCE distinguished visiting professor, gave their speeches respectively. Through key words such as “kindness”, “gratitude”, “joyfulness”, “expectation”, etc., they expressed their sincerest wishes for the 70th anniversary of the alma mater. They also conveyed their hope to further strengthen their ties with the alma mater, continue to pay attention to it, and make greater contributions to its development.
Cheng Yue noted in the conclusion part that thanks to all the alumni, despite having graduated for many years and no matter where they are, they still supported their alma mater, paid close attention to the development of the college and the growth of CCE students. For them, every bit of progress of the alma mater matters and every part of the development embodies their love and support. In the future, the college will continue to take teaching as the center and scientific research as the carrier, and constantly promote the development of the college.
After the opening ceremony, CCE held the “Celebrating 70th Anniversary of Jilin University - College of Communication Engineering Alumni Forum”, and graduates were invited to deliver speeches. Their words were sincere, humorous and philosophical, from which teachers and students harvested a lot.
